Stupid is as Stupid Does: Tom Hanks Endorses Barack Obama

Reported from Durham, NC and in through the wires comes a ringing endorsement for Barack Obama by Tom Hanks.
Whenever a celebrity from the left coast gives a political endorsement or social idea, hide the children.
There have been some great celebrities and social giants that emerged from Hollywood, so to be fair the broad brush will be holstered.
It’s not just wacky thespians such as Rosie O’Donnell that should stick to reading scripts. Well-respected and talented stars, such as Mr. Hanks, have wandered into the political arena. It would be nice to see them wander back out. I completely support their right to express their political views. However, the danger is the soapbox that they are instantly afforded due to their fame and it is far too often that ideology trumps sincerity. Moreover, the sheep can get lost by star gazing distractions. This is very notable among many Barack Obama supporters.
Additionally, it would be nice to see Chuck Norris stick to the roundhouse kicks and impressive punches than stumping along campaign trails and trying to read from Teleprompters. I don't know what's more painful a Norris Karate chop or listening to his attempts at prolific commentary whether it's substituting as a FOX pundit or butchering his way along a campaign trail, we may never know. Perhaps, Mike Huckabee has the answer to that one.
Tom Hanks donated 10 grand to Slick Willie's legal defense fund, and then admitted regretting doing so. This is another example of ideology trumping common sense.
Fast forward to today's political scene and we have the same Tom Hanks, another Clinton, and a dazzling new comer. Oh yeah, and a patriotic war hero.
It looks like Tom Hanks hedged his bets this time around and decided the smart money might be behind Barack Obama instead of another Clinton.
The cringe factor comes when the Forrest Gump star claims he is supporting Barack Obama, in part, due to Obama's "character" and "vision." Mr. Hanks also attributes “integrity” to Barack Obama’s “inspirational” efforts to “unify.” Tom Hanks delivered this with a straight face. Kudos for another Oscar winning performance. Mr. Hanks, you should have started and stopped with “inspirational”
Tom Hanks are you serious or acting? Maybe you‘re seriously acting. It could be that Mr. Hanks was reading his Barack Obama endorsement script through rosy colored lenses.
The most sincere part of Tom Hanks’ endorsement message was this comedic quip, “As an official celebrity, I know my endorsement has just made my mind up for you.”
Stupid is as stupid does.

I really like the way you express yourself - very entertaining and clever organization of your thoughts...I actually laughed out loud - ("Tom Hanks are you serious or acting? Maybe you‘re seriously acting.")
