Death Penalty Executions Delayed Due to Drug Shortage - Associated Content - associatedcontent.com

Hospira an Illinois based company suspended the production of Pentothal. Pentothal consists of sodium thiopental, which is one of the three drugs combined to create the lethal injection commonly used in death penalty executions.

Sodium thiopental is a barbiturate primarily used to anesthetize surgical patients, induce medical comas and sometimes to euthanize animals.

Hospira is the sole producer of the drug and reports that the shortage could last until next March. The company claims that the shortage is due to unspecified problems with its raw-material suppliers.

As a result of the shortage, several of the 17 prisoners condemned to be put to death by the end of January are likely to receive a temporary reprieve.

33 of the 35 states that still put prisoners to death use the three-drug approach. The remaining two, Ohio and Washington, have opted for using a single heavy dose of sodium thiopental.

Oklahoma and Kentucky have already postponed scheduled executions. Arizona does not have the drug and anticipates that a scheduled October execution will be delayed.

On September 29, after a five-year ban on the death penalty, California was scheduled to execute Albert Greenwood, convicted of raping and murdering a 15-year-old girl in 1980; that execution will likely not be carried out.

In Oklahoma, two convicted killers are scheduled for lethal injections and only one dose of the drug needed to execute them is available.

Matters became complicated for Oklahoma when the drug shortage pushed back the execution of 38-year-old Jeffrey Matthews who was scheduled to die Aug. 17 for the murder of one of his relatives during a burglary.

Officials wanted to use a substitute drug; Matthews' attorneys objected and a judge stayed his execution until October 16. Prison officials say they have since secured one dose of sodium thiopental for his execution, and they planned to use it on Matthews.

However, attorneys for Donald Wackerly, the second inmate scheduled for execution before Matthews, claim the substitute that his client will receive is inappropriate and possibly inhumane.

A judge then ruled the single dose of sodium thiopental should be used on Wackerly, who was convicted of murdering a fisherman during a robbery in 1996, instead of Matthews.

Matthews' attorneys then successfully obtained another hearing to further delay his execution, citing potential problems with the sedative switch.

What a mess, to say the least. Death Penalty Information Center Director Richard Dieter likened the mess in Oklahoma to “Russian Roulette.”

Skepticism regarding the merits of the shortage exists because of Hospira’s stance against their products being utilized in executions. Hospira sent out letters last March containing the following statement:

“Hospira provides these products because they improve or save lives and markets them solely for use as indicated on the product labeling. As such, we do not support the use of any of our products in capital punishment procedures.”

The one state not experiencing shortage issues is Texas, the nation's busiest death penalty state. Texas has enough of the drug on hand to carry out the three executions scheduled before the end of the year, which would bring its total number of executions for 2010 to 15.

States looking to avoid protracted delays in pending executions will undoubtedly face legal challenges if they seek to use an alternative drug to replace Pentothal, which is Hospira’s brand name for sodium thiopental.

Pentothal, part of the three-drug cocktail that creates the lethal injection, is designed to sedate inmates before they are injected with the drugs that paralyze them and stop their hearts.

Faux hooker and pimp, Hannah Giles and James O'Keefe, exposed ACORN again. The dirty deed this time occurred in the city that never sleeps; Brooklyn, NY.



I have worked the mean streets of NYC for over 20-years, including a stint in vice (it wasn't called vice then, it was known as the public morals division). My travels have taken me to that seedy side of Nevins Street where ACORN (house of ill repute?) sits. Let me tell ya, prostitutes of Giles quality does not exist.

The illustrious former governor of NY, Elliot Spitzer, paid over five grand for time spent with a comely "escort" that was not of Giles caliber. It is obvious that pure greed is the root of the ACORN tree. Greed and political expediency to that end trumps even their own street savvy.

Is your ideology trumping your good sense? Is the close affiliation to Barack Obama preventing you from seeing why this community organization should not be the recipient of public funds? When is enough, enough?

James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles are emerging as American heroes. They are doing what the "true" investigative journalists are not. They are exposing a corrupt organization that is ripping us off to the tune of millions and potentially billions of dollars.

The MSM does not have the stomach to go after Barack Obama's pet organization, which is another example of ideology trumping ethical standards. If this were a GOP front, the MSM would be all over this; like spit(zer) on a hooker's pillowcase.

ACORN like Van Jones, is it me or does Barack Obama have some cool friends, played the victim role and blamed FOX, Republicans and racism. After the Baltimore sting netted a pair of ACORNs, a top official of that outfit stated they have plans to sue O'Keefe, Giles, and the FOX network. Why FOX? Because they had the audacity to report this mess.

Baltimore City's top prosecutor even issued a threatening statement boasting of possible charges against O'Keefe and Giles. The prosecutor, Patricia Jessamy, is a Barack Obama supporter, surprise, surprise.

In the Brooklyn nuthouse, ACORN officials advised the two criminals appearing before them to squirrel away their ill-gotten proceeds. "When you buy the house with a back yard, you get a tin and bury it down in there, and you put the money right in, and you put grass over it, and you don't tell a single soul but yourself where it is"

The streetwalker and her man posing undercover, that is undercover, not under the covers people, entered the Brooklyn office with the idea of purchasing a house to operate a brothel. The brothel will house underage children to work as prostitutes. ACORN was more than willing to help establish this criminal enterprise.

What is particularly troubling is that ACORN and its friends, i.e. the POTUS and Patricia Jessamy who happens to be president of the Baltimore Child Abuse Center, claim to be for the youth, the community, and the downtrodden. Those groups are hurt the most by this corruption and complicity by the "powers that be." Where is the outrage, folks?

Democratic Representative John Conyers was called off investigating ACORN. Conyers claims, "The powers that be called [him] off." Even Barney Frank reversed his stance to deny ACORN public funds.

Perhaps, the ACORN nuts exposed by O’Keefe and Giles does not bother Barney Frank. After all, the Washington Times reported that Frank’s Capitol Hill apartment was operating a real life prostitution ring, where his gay lover was performing...let’s just say a public service.

Did I ask yet, where is the outrage?

Baltimore Prosecutor May Go After Undercover Producers of ACORN Video

Baltimore City's State Attorney, Patricia Jessamy may prosecute James O'Keefe for exposing ACORN employees in an undercover sting. That sting operation, which James O'Keefe posed as a pimp and Hanna Giles posed as a prostitute revealed some very disturbing footage about corruption inside of ACORN.

On Thursday, the undercover operatives armed with a hidden camera walked into an ACORN office in Baltimore City, MD. The man (pimp) and woman (prostitute) ask about buying a house (brothel) and how to account on tax forms for the woman's income. An ACORN employee advises the woman to list her occupation as "performance artist."





ACORN fired the two employees. Less than 24-hours later, in Washington DC a similar sting netted more ACORN employees. The DC employees were also fired. Clearly, there is a systemic problem regarding ACORN.

Rep. Conyers, Michigan Democrat, called for hearings on accusations the Association of Community Organization for Reform Now (ACORN) has committed crimes ranging from voter fraud to a mob-style "protection" racket.

Conyers abruptly reversed the decision to investigate and claimed, "The powers that be decided against it." Mr. Conyers will not elaborate.

Patricia Jessamy, Baltimore's top prosecutor, who ironically happens to be president of the Baltimore Child Abuse Center, became aware of ACORN conspiring with a pimp and a prostitute to exploit Hispanic children in a prostitution ring. Wonderful, Jessamy is the right person to bring justice forward! Think again folks, the prosecutor's office had this to say:

Baltimore, MD – September 11, 2009 – We have received inquiries from citizens and the media asking whether the Baltimore City State’s Attorneys Office would initiate a criminal investigation for acts allegedly committed at ACORN offices located in Baltimore. The only information received in reference to this alleged criminal behavior was a YouTube video. Upon review by this office, the video appears to be incomplete. In addition, the audio portion could possibly have been obtained in violation of Maryland Law, Annotated Code of Maryland Courts and Judicial Proceedings Article §10-402, which requires two party consent.

If it is determined that the audio portion now being heard on YouTube was illegally obtained, it is also illegal under Maryland Law to willfully use or willfully disclose the content of said audio. The penalty for the unlawful interception, disclosure or use of it is a felony punishable up to 5 years.

No word if ACORN was threatened with any probes. Patricia Jessamy is clearly allowing her ideology to trump her dedication to abused children.

What an Obamanation! You see, Jessamy is a huge Barack Obama supporter, Obama is a huge ACORN fan and vise versa. It's all in the family, Chicago style.



Barack Obama was a community organizer in Project Vote and served as ACORN's lawyer. He also funneled more than $800,000 to ACORN during the campaign and ACORN endorsed Obama in the primary.

We are in the Bizarro world, where the POTUS calls off investigations of voter fraud and other illegalities when it is perpetrated by ACORN and the Black Panthers, but gives the wink and nod to go after the CIA.

In the same crazy world, ACORN's Maryland top official had this to say, "We believe our country is beyond this type of attack and call on all Americans to demand that FOX stop its RACIST coverage."

The race card again! I can understand blasting FOX; after all, they are the only network with the cajones to go after Obama's peeps, but racist!?

ACORN was caught on tape advising how to shield a criminal enterprise where Hispanic girls would have been placed in a child prostitution ring. And FOX is racist for reporting it!?!

Folks, At least $53 million in federal funds have gone to ACORN and Barack Obama could funnel $8.5 billion more tax dollars to them, despite being under investigation for voter registration fraud in a dozen states.

Rep. Michelle Bachmann, R-MN, wants to stop the flow of tax dollars to ACORN. On a voice vote, Barney Frank agreed but like Conyers, he had a sudden change of heart and said it was a mistake to vote yes. Frank now plans to offer another amendment to the bill on the House floor that would allow non-profits that have been indicted to receive grants.

The president should be proud.

Lucia Whalen, Gates' 911 Caller Speaks Out

The below embedded video is a display of what your post-racial president reduced an American citizen to. Of all the parties involved in this ugly incident that deserves an apology and a drink it is Lucia Whalen.

Sgt. Crowley is a seasoned officer with thick skin; dealing with arrogant racial profiling professors is tame compared to what a cop may face. Granted being called out by the POTUS is not a routine result of answering 911 calls, but very well may be if the handlers do not reign in Obama. Don't forget folks, for over 20-years the POTUS sat in the pew of one of America's most popular racist, Jeremiah Wright.

Supporters of Gates have excoriated the 911 caller by wrongly accusing her of racism. The 911 transcript clearly shows how color blind she is, you can view that transcript here.

The danger of Obama's & Gates' racial profiling of Sgt. Crowley, because you see folks a white police officer must fit the description of a racist in the POTUS' & professor's viewpoint, is to create and continue apathy among otherwise decent citizens.

The treatment of Lucia Whalen, which was furthered by the POTUS, also creates and further divides race relations in America.

This alleged post-racial president impeded the forward progress of race relations in America. Way to go Barack Obama, way to go.

Scores of jaded Americans berated Lucinda Whalen and claim she is a racist for calling the police, read the transcript of the 911 call and note how color blind she actually is.

The tragedy however, is that If Ms. Whalen did notice and mention the race of the men that just shouldered their way into a home she would have been a confirmed racist by Obama's standard and the rest of the race-arsonists that are rearing its ugly head.

Racial profiling did exist in this case folks, Sgt Crowley and Ms. Whalen was profiled by Gates, Obama, and the Jerimah Wrights of the world.

FEMALE WITNESS CALLER: Hi, I'm actually at (inaudible) street in Cambridge, the house number is 7 Ware Street.

911 OPERATOR: OK ma'am, your cell phone cut out, what's the address again?

FEMALE WITNESS CALLER: Sorry, it's 7 Ware Street. That's W-A-R-E Street.

When I had looked, I went further, closer to the house a little bit after the gentlemen were already in the house. I noticed two suitcases. So, I'm not sure if this is two individuals who actually work there, I mean, who live there.

911 OPERATOR: You think they might have been breaking in?

FEMALE WITNESS CALLER: I don't know 'cause I have no idea. I just noticed.

911 OPERATOR: So you're saying you think the possibility might have been there? What do you mean by barged in? You mean they kicked the door in?

FEMALE WITNESS CALLER: No, they were pushing the door in. Like, umm, the screen part of the front door was kind of like cut.

911 OPERATOR: How did they open the door itself with the lock?

FEMALE WITNESS CALLER: They, I didn't see a key or anything 'cause I was a little bit away from the door. But I did notice that they pushed their (interrupted).

911 OPERATOR: And what do the suitcases have to do with anything?

I don't know if they live there and they just had a hard time with their key but I did notice that they kind of used their shoulder to kind of barge in and they got in. I don't know if they had a key or not because I couldn't see from my angle. But, you know, when I looked a little closely that's what I saw.

911 OPERATOR: Are they still in the house?

FEMALE WITNESS CALLER: They're still in the house, I believe, yeah.

FEMALE WITNESS CALLER: Umm, well there were two larger men, one looked kind of Hispanic but I'm not really sure. And the other one entered and I didn't see what he looked like at all. I just saw it from a distance and this older woman was worried thinking someone's breaking in someone's house, they've been barging in. And she interrupted me and that's when I had noticed otherwise I probably wouldn't have noticed it at all, to be honest with you. So, I was just calling 'cause she was a concerned neighbor, I guess.

Professor Gates, Sgt Crowley and Obama the Divider

What we know according to various news reports and witness accounts are that Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. returned home from a trip to China. Gates came home to a faulty front door due to a prior break-in. This prompted him and another person to force entry by shouldering the back door.

The next turn of events is a positive one. Far too often apathy sets in and folks in communities across the nation look the other way, but thankfully not Mr. Gates' neighbor. A neighbor reported men breaking into the house, unaware that it was the professor returning home.

Sgt. James Crowley of the Cambridge Police Department responded to the 911 report of two black men with backpacks breaking into a home. Upon arrival, Crowley observed a male inside of the home. Crowley asked the male to step out onto the front porch, unaware that this male was Mr. Gates. Harvard professor Gates opened the front door and exclaimed "Why, because I'm a black man in America!?"

By all accounts, it seems that Mr. Gates took umbrage over being challenged by a uniformed officer. The sergeant asked for identification, Gates initially refused and challenged the officer. Mr. Gates also berated the officer and repeatedly called him a racist.

In the presence of the police, Gates made a phone call and accused Crowley of being a racist to a third party. Sgt. Crowley says the acoustics of the kitchen and foyer area made it difficult to make radio transmissions over the yelling of Mr. Gates. Upon obtaining an earful and identification from Mr. Gates, Crowley informed Mr. Gates that he would continue speaking to him outside of the home, at which time Harvard professor Gates sated, "ya, I'll speak to your mama outside."

As Sgt. Crowley descended the front stairs of the home to the street area, Mr. Gates followed and continued his barrage of insults and tumultuous behavior, causing a crowd to gather. Gates did not cease this behavior upon threat of arrest. Mr. Gates was subsequently arrested for disorderly conduct, which was later dropped by prosecutors.

Professor Gates charges racism. Barack Obama charges stupidity on the part of police and hints to racial profiling by saying, "that there is a long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately, and that's just a fact."

Here are some additional FACTS, perhaps Obama the divider would care to learn about; Sgt. Crowley is an expert on racial profiling and teaches a course of how not to single people out because of their ethnic background or culture.

Sgt. Crowley also demonstrated his lack of bias when he administered mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on NBA star Reggie Lewis who suffered a fatal heart attack. Remember folks, it is not mandated for cops to perform mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, that is a personal choice.

Barack Obama may have hoodwinked the nation when he ran on a platform of unity. Obama may have perpetrated a con when he claimed he was not from the same racially perverse cloth that his mentor and preacher man was.

The Jeremiah Wrights of the world claim a black person cannot be a racist because they are not in a position of power to be a racist. When you make a negative claim against another person because of his race that is a racist point of view, period.

When a white man is accused of being a racist because he arrives on a scene in a police uniform to investigate a crime and he is accused of being a racist and stupid, where is the charge of bias for the accusers?

The support for Professor Gates is divided along racial lines and common sense falls into the gap. Instead of cautioning the nation to assess by fact before judgment is levied, Barack Obama stoked the flames of resentment and played the role of a race-arsonist. Jeremiah will be proud.

Another fact that is not mentioned by Barack Obama is that Sgt. Crowley front cuffed Mr. Gates. Procedure is to rear cuff prisoners, but he considered Mr. Gates' condition (Gates walks with a cane) and made sure he was comfortable.

Barack Obama likes to quote "facts," let's take another look at a factual sequence of events that Barack Obama and the rest of us are privy to; Mr. Gates, a burglar suspect, was not stopped at gun point, not ordered onto the ground AND given the benefit of the doubt, that he was the homeowner BEFORE verifying his identification.

Folks, I don't know about you but that does not sound like racial profiling to me. Wait, maybe it was, perhaps if it was a white man Sgt. Crowley would have used sound police tactics and rear cuffed the suspect and verified later.

Perhaps, Sgt. Crowley gave Mr. Gates the benefit of the doubt because he was afraid of being called a racist. Damned if you do, damned if you don't! Perhaps, the good sergeant should have acted in a sound tactical manner and treated the man that just shouldered his way into a home as a burglary suspect.

Perhaps, Barack Obama was in fact listening to Jeremiah Wright after all.

The UK Gun Ban

The English are perceived to be the leaders of etiquette and masters of a polite society. Quite often, too often, it is American chic to consider our neighbors in the UK a model to emulate. Perhaps, to the American ear the English tone represents a higher intellect.

This is not to denigrate our UK neighbors, but rather to encourage our American citizens to assess by fact and not by fad. The trail blazing UK held the distinction of having the toughest firearm restrictions of any democracy and their 1997 handgun ban became the "gold standard" of gun control.

How has that UK gun ban been working?

• In the four years from 1997 to 2001, the rate of violent crime more than doubled.

• Your chances of being mugged in London are now six times greater than in New York.

• England's rates of assault, robbery, and burglary are far higher than America's.

• 53 percent of English burglaries occur while occupants are at home, compared with 13 percent in the U.S., where burglars admit to fearing armed homeowners more than the police.

In a [2002] United Nations study of crime in 18 developed nations, England and Wales led the Western world's crime league, with nearly 55 crimes per 100 people. [1]

Gun crime in London is increasing so rapidly that police fear they may not have the resources to cope. In a 2001 BBC report, officers stated there had been a 100% increase in firearms-related crime in the capital. [2]

Northern Ireland [home of the IRA] is the only part of the British Isles where significant numbers of civilians are granted permits to carry a concealed handgun for self-defense. According to the International Crime Victim Survey released in August ’01, Northern Ireland had one of the lowest levels of victimization of any of the 15 industrialized countries studied and England had the highest. [3]

To be fair to our English neighbors, 2007 crime stats show a leveling off of overall gun crimes, despite an increase in homicide. [4] Publicizing gun crimes, however, is becoming a bone of contention among UK officials.

After a high profile shooting death of an 11-year old boy, the UK Shadow Home Secretary, noted the huge increase in gun crimes since the ban and claimed the ministers were putting out "misleading and inaccurate figures." [5]

Jack Straw, the UK Justice Secretary, admitted the increase in gun-related incidents, but cited an overall drop in crime crediting the government's efforts. David Cameron, Tory leader, accused Mr. Straw of "self satisfied comments" and "complacency." Cameron also accused ministers of spinning statistics. [5]

With the exception of gun-related deaths, 2008 UK crime stats show a significant rise in gun crimes, the biggest since 2004. [6] The overall picture since the UK gun ban clearly shows that gun control is not crime control and only serves to empower the criminal and inhibit the liberty of her people.

A Church of England vicar had this to say, "It seems as if we have slipped into some bizarre parallel universe where the basic rules about the way human beings communicate have been suspended. What can we say or do? We feel so powerless. "We need to ask hard questions about a kind of society that makes possible such a callous disregard of human life." [5]

By adopting a radical gun ban, the UK abandoned the principles of their own 1689 Bill of Rights calling for the citizenry to "have arms for their defence." The abandoning of such principles is not a practice that a Freedom loving nation desiring the safety, pursuit of happiness, liberty, and justice for all should emulate.

Why Did Obama Select Geithner as Treasury Chief?

Most of the nation, those with both ears open and not just their left one, heard about Timothy Geithner's tax problems. Barack Obama nominated him despite Geithner's failure to pay income tax for 5-years. While the nation listened to Geithner claim incompetence to explain his utter disregard for our tax laws, there was something more sinister involved regarding his horrendous resume and connection to Obama.

First, let's examine Timothy Geithner's resume.

Federal Reserve Bank of New York

On Nov. 17, 2003 Timothy Geithner became the ninth president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. In that capacity, he served as the vice chairman and a permanent member of the Federal Open Market Committee, the group responsible for formulating the nation's monetary policy.

During Mr. Geithner's tenure as CEO he presided over some of the largest economic failures, such as the following illustrated by World Net Daily;

March 2008: Bear Stearns collapses from losses in sub-prime mortgage obligations and derivatives transactions; J.P. Morgan Chase buys Bear Stearns in a deal arranged by the Federal Reserve for the dramatically reduced value of $2 a share, with the Federal Reserve guaranteeing J.P. Morgan against $30 billion in Bear Stearns asset losses.

September 2008: Wall Street investment bank Lehman Brothers closes doors in bankruptcy after the U.S. Treasury and Federal Reserve refuse to arrange a merger plan, a bailout or a guarantee program to save the Wall Street giant.

September 2008: The Bank of America buys Wall Street investment bank Merrill Lynch in a $50 billion deal that saves Merrill Lynch from having to declare bankruptcy.

September 2008: The Federal Reserve extends to insurance giant American International Group (AIG) an $85 billion loan that saves it from going bankrupt from derivatives loses in a massive $441 billion exposure to credit default swaps.

November 2008: Citibank received $45 billion through the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) plus Treasury Department, Federal Reserve and FDIC guarantees on $306 billion in troubled assets held by the bank.

Note: Citibank recently spent $50 million on a jet after receiving public money.

Let's recap: Mr. Geithner claims incompetence when confronted about his failure to pay income taxes, if we don't buy this then the alternative is that Mr. Geithner is a criminal; either scenario isn't good and should preclude his position as Treasury Secretary. Mr. Geithner also presided over the nation’s most recent and substantial economic failures.

Why Did Obama Select Geithner as Treasury Chief?

The devil is in the details and this content isn’t designed to answer that question, but designed to actually raise more questions. A clue for the discerning can be found in the same WND report, which reveals that at the Ford Foundation in the early 1980s, Geithner oversaw micro-finance programs in Indonesia. Geithner reportedly met in person with Obama's mother, Ann Dunham. Dunham spent part of her career working in Indonesian micro-finance.

President Bush Commutes Sentences of Agents Ramos and Compean

President Bush commuted the sentences of former Border Agent Ramos and Compean. The clemency comes nearly two years to the date the agents began their prison terms.

Ramos and Compean entered prison on January 17, 2007. After a long, hard fought battle waged with bi-partisan support and promises of relentless grassroots action our border defenders are coming home.

The prison term will end on March 20, 2009 and they will be reunited with their families. Reports indicate that Bush didn't pardon the men for their crimes, but decided instead to commute their prison sentences because he believed they were excessive and that they had already suffered the loss of their jobs, freedom and reputations.

Many have taken up the call for action for the imprisoned border agents. A tireless advocate for the men, Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif had this to say to Foxnews.com, "his [President Bush] own stubbornness was overcome by better parts of his own soul." "The order reaffirms our faith that the system works, if indeed the American people are willing to work at it."

The agents were fired after their convictions on several charges, including assault with a dangerous weapon and with serious bodily injury, violation of civil rights and obstruction of justice. All their convictions, except obstruction of justice, were upheld on appeal.

Former Agents Ramos and Compean’s only hope was an act of clemency; they received that today. White House Press Secretary Dana Perino said Monday's commutations would be President Bush's last acts of clemency.

McCain Volunteer Attacked, Letter "B" Carved into Her Face

McCain volunteer made up robbery story.

AP reported that Ashley Todd, admitted Friday that the story was false, said Maurita Bryant, the assistant chief of the police department's investigations division. Todd was charged with making a false report to police, and Bryant said police doubted her story from the start.

Police said the woman reported suffering from "mental problems" in the past, and that they do not believe anyone put her up to the act.

As this blogger wrote in the original post the campaigns cannot be responsible for the actions of their wacky and even criminal supporters. McCain has his fair share of crazy supporters as well (obviously) The difference is McCain doesn't support them.

The sentiment regarding Obama's subversive affiliations remain valid. Unfortunately Obama's radical ties have not been debunked.

A 20-year-old woman who was robbed at an ATM in Bloomfield was also maimed by her attacker, apparently because of her political views, Pittsburgh police said.

Ashley Todd, of College Station, Texas, was using an ATM at Liberty Avenue and Pearl Street just before 9 p.m. Wednesday when a man approached her and put a knife to her throat.

Police spokeswoman Diane Richard said the robber took $60 from Todd, then became angry when he saw a McCain bumper sticker on the victim's car. The attacker then punched and kicked the victim, before using the knife to scratch the letter "B" into her face, Richard said.

This should anger ALL Americans. Here we have an American citizen exercising her basic rights when accosted by the predator. The McCain campaign personally reached out to the woman.

The Obama campaign issued a statement stating their wishes for a speedy recovery and apprehension.

Very nice of the Obama campaign.

Obama surrounds himself with subversives, Marxists, crooks, ACORN operatives, domestic terrorists, and a host of other anti-social individuals and institutions...perhaps Obama can check with some of them for a lead or two to help catch the bad guy.

Low blow? Perhaps. But true.

I certainly understand that the campaigns cannot be responsible for the actions of their wacky and even criminal supporters. McCain has his fair share of crazy supporters as well. The difference is McCain doesn't support them.
