Analysis: Presidential Candidate john McCain

Ironically, the very issues that Conservative talk show hosts and the GOP leadership hammer John McCain on are the very issues that can define and reinforce his conservative platform. Let's examine the top five.

1. Not supporting the Bush tax cuts

2. Immigration

3. McCain/Feingold

4. Gang of 14

5. Marriage Amendment

Did YOU ever hear of this "fence" that has kept Palestinians out of.....No, not Israel.....but....

Egypt!

Front Loader Destroying Wall

Jan. 23: Palestinians cross the border into Egypt after militants exploded the wall between Gaza Strip and Egypt.

The wall had already been sliced through before the explosions brought it down

Oh, you NEVER heard anyone complaining about this fence? do you wonder why not?

And this....is an Egyptian personnel carrier, armed and ready to KEEP Palestinians OUT of Egypt!

http://asapblogs.typepad.com/photos/uncategorized/2007/07/30/egypt.jpg

The Arabs don't want their own Muslim brothers in any of their nations. Proof? Sixty years over which they had ample time to make peace and resettle them. And the world is asking Israel to resettle these people in the only TINY non-Muslim nation in that vast land that cannot possibly absorb them. Makes sense.

Egyptian lookout post over Gaza fence...that has kept Palestinian Arabs OUT OF Egypt for decades.

Before 1967 Jordan "Occupied" the West Bank. Did you ever hear of the Palestinians then? Hmmmm? I bet not!

In the first year after the evacuation over 1000 rockets have been fired from Gaza at defenseless Sdorot, an Israeli town with lots of children. Since those days over 2500 rockets have been launched into Israel -- the same Israel that supplies electricity, medical supplies, and water to Gaza.

Urine Test?

Author unknown-

I HAVE TO PASS A URINE TEST FOR MY JOB...

Like a lot of folks in this state, I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit.

In order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test with which I have no problem. What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test.

Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them?

Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sitting on their ASS, doing drugs, while I work. . . . Can you imagine how much money the state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check ?

Ramos and Compean: One Year in Purgatory

(CNN image L to R: Ramos and compean)

Thursday, January 17, 2008

Today, January 17, 2008, is the one-year anniversary of the wrongful
imprisonment of U.S. Border Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean.

Steve Elliott, President of Grassfire.org Alliance mailed out the following press statement by Congressman Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA):

"It has been a year since Border Agents Ramos and Compean entered prison. This marks a year of shame for President Bush who has been fully aware of the details of this blatant miscarriage of justice and chosen to do absolutely nothing about it. Since day one, family members, a cross section of the American people and Members of Congress have pleaded with President Bush to pardon or commute their sentences to prevent these men from having
to endure the horror of federal prison.

For a year, the President has shown us his arrogant and heartless side by permitting the wrongful incarceration of Ramos and Compean to continue. He may have put Ramos
and Compean out of his mind, but for the rest of us, the President's disregard for Ramos and Compean’s injustice represents a definitive and deliberate inaction on his part.

The last year has been an absolute nightmare for these two men who risked their lives defending our borders. Agent Ramos was savagely beaten within days of imprisonment
and both men have been condemned to solitary confinement for a year, suffering conditions worse than detainees at Guantanamo Bay.

It is shameful that President Bush refused to show the
same level of mercy for Ramos and Compean that he was
so easily willing to grant his friend Scooter Libby."

Congressman Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA), has been an outspoken advocate
of the agents.

The agents' appeal was heard before the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals on December 3, 2007.

Grassfire has been in close contact with both Mrs. Ramos and Compean, and they have not received any indications as to when the ruling might be announced. They did however,
ask everyone to pray. Contingent upon the courts ruling, Ramos and Compean may be forced to serve their entire 11 and 12 years sentences, respectively.

Folks, this travesty of justice began when West Texas U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton manipulated the system for his own political advancement and perverse sense of justice.

This should serve as a harsh reminder that terrible things happen to good people. At this magnitude, American justice seems to be a foreign concept.

--------------------

Please review these other articles previously published regarding the plight of our former agents, the commencement of the appeal process, and the pardons by President Bush that ignored their plight.

Note: President Bush appointed U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton, and in deference to his “dear friend” will not address the plight of the agents. To view video of bush discussing this please activate hyperlinked note.

If you wish to correspond with agents contact author for information.

Mitt Romney Wins Michigan Primary

Mitt Romney

By Tony Vega

Wednesday, January 16, 2007

PUBLISHED Here: AssociatedContent.com

AND Here: AmericanAngle.blogspot.com

Mitt Romney Michigan’s native son wins the Republican primary on native soil. Not a big deal. A quick look at the numbers reveals Romney wins Michigan at 39% and John McCain takes second with 30%. It appears that John McCain lost to Romney, rather than Mitt Romney winning Michigan, if you can follow that logic. Mitt Romney was supposed to win Michigan. Again, it’s his home state and he’s plugged into that states dynamics, while out spending his closest rivals 3 to 4 times. He skillfully understood that he must zero in on the economic issues of that state, particularly the automobile industry. John McCain seemed to concede and with a wink held the door open for Romney. The main reason this is such a big W for Romney is that if he had lost his home state it would have signaled the end of his candidacy.

In 2000, John McCain was that state’s primary winner beating out George Bush the Texan. A further analysis reveals that if Romney were not from Michigan the more likely winner would have been John McCain. Who is the real winner in Michigan? Time will tell. There’s still a lot of football left and it aint even half time yet folks. Do not forget we are all living in an America lead by the second place winner (or loser) of the 2000 Michigan state primary. During that same time, John McCain also won his home state of Arizona.

More interesting is the leapfrog wins of these republican candidates. We now have three GOP candidates winning the first four states to vote in the 2008 primary season. That’s right I said four. The little talked about state of Wyoming and her 12 delegates went to Romney as well. With two wins to his credit, it would seem Romney could claim front-runner status. However, with Huckabee winning the lead off state of Iowa and McCain winning New Hampshire the GOP has no clear front-runner as the race moves to South Carolina.

Image: John McCain

Huckabee fared better than the other GOP candidates did with a 16% showing in Michigan. The other candidates barely reached double digits. With a GOP race largely considered a race of five candidates, ignoring Ron Paul and Duncan, two members of the core five Thompson and Giuliani came in behind Ron Paul. Thompson and Giuliani seem non-pulsed over losing to the internet sensation Paul. This fares worse for Thompson. After throwing his hat into the ring late and conceding he would not have had a strong showing in Michigan, Thompson seems a little out of breath catching up to the pack. With that said, his candidacy still resonates more legitimately than a Ron Paul candidacy. Giuliani has strategically ignored those first four states and is focusing his energies on the South. He is paying more attention to South Carolina, but his real focus is on Florida.

Thompson needs to win in South Carolina to remain viable. South Carolina is very welcoming to country candidates. That’s a big help for Thompson and Huckabee. Look for those two elbowing there way to the front. South Carolina, however, is not a lock for those two country candidates, especially with these unprecedented GOP wins amongst the varying candidates. It appears chaotic, especially when attempting to put this in a neat package. It is up in the air folks.

South Carolina consists of many military men and women both retired and active. Indicators claim this first southern primary state will focus on immigration followed by support for the Iraq war. McCain’s weak point is on immigration, but his strong suit will be on the military front and his consistency on Iraq. The South Carolina primary is Saturday. That does not leave much time for the McCain camp to get out the message that his immigration policy is a realistic one and on par with the desires of that state. However, McCain will appeal to the national conservative base shaving points from Thompson and Huckabee. It is a new world since the 2000 election and the Pakistani crisis drives this point home. Look for McCain to have a strong showing in South Carolina.

Giuliani will more than likely have his best showing yet, in South Carolina. His 911 mantra will probably resonate well there. However, his coup de tat will be reserved for Florida. That’s if his gamble plays out. Giuliani in essence ignored the first four states (reason why coming behind Ron Paul in Michigan doesn’t matter) and is in Florida campaigning heavily. A Giuliani win in Florida will earn him that state’s rich 57 delegates. That one state win would catapult him to the front, possibly giving him the party‘s coveted nomination. A large contingent of firefighters is endeavoring to make sure this does not happen. Fire fighter groups despise Giuliani after he gave the controversial order to cease recovery efforts shortly after the 911 attacks.

The South will define the GOP race.

Why I like “Dancing With the Stars”

By Fern Abbott
Sunday, January 13, 2007

As a rule, I don’t like reality shows. Watching people attempt to swallow something we’d normally step on or walk around, or vote a team-mate off an island (which under other circumstances might be tantamount to a death sentence), or yell at each other when one makes an error is, to me, plumbing the depths of humanity. It shows the worst of us in competition and sets a poor example for the impressionable.

Dancing with the Stars, on the other hand, encompasses, plays up and sends positive messages in ways that no amount of teaching/telling/preaching could get across.

1. If you want to succeed, you have to work, and work hard. Coasting or faking it won’t get you there. The finalists spent hours per day practicing, even with full time jobs (or other obligations) that they couldn’t take off from. Nothing - neither sickness, injuries or even deaths in the family stopped either the celebrities or the dancers.

2. You can’t break the rules and get away with it; there are consequences. Those celebrities who violated the rules were chastised by the judges and had points subtracted, even if the dance was popularly received or superbly entertaining. One celebrity, a few years ago, showed such a poor attitude and disregard of the rules that even his fans didn’t (or couldn’t or wouldn’t) keep him on the show.

3. Even though the stars were in competition, they showed professionalism and good sportsmanship at all times. They never bad-mouthed the competition, but praised them instead and acknowledged that the competition made them work even harder and more determined to succeed.
When their competitors were eliminated, although the staying stars were happy to stay, they were also sad to see their competitors leave. Those who were eliminated did not complain -not about the judging, personalities, the point system, how someone else was responsible for mistakes, the unfairness of life, etc.

4. Look at the female dancers - they’re in great shape and excellent physical condition, proving you don’t have to be anorexic to look good. In fact, one of the “stars” this season was a fashion model – thin, but woefully out of condition and didn’t have the muscle tone to compete. If this isn’t a very positive message for our daughters (sisters, nieces, granddaughters, etc.) I don’t know what is. And many, if not most of the celebrities commented that they’d lost weight as a result of the constant dance practice.

5. Just because you’re handicapped, or even older, doesn’t mean you can’t compete or be active. We’ve seen an amputee, someone who recently had hip replacement surgery, people with various conditions (stiff back, arthritis, etc), and of course, stars in their 40’s, 50’s and even 60’s and 70’s compete.

6. Men who dance are not sissies, less then manly, or homosexual – and there’s nothing unmanly about it. We’ve seen not only actors, but football players, fighters, boxers, and a race car driver compete, to name a few. The sports celebrities worked on their dancing footwork as much as they did their footwork in their sport.

My only complaint? The season is too short. I wouldn’t mind if ABC ran each season again as reruns. It sure bets some of the crap that’s on now.

Obama's Church Honors Nation of Islam Leader Louis Farrakhan

By Tony Vega for AssociatedContent.com
Previously Published on AmericanAngle.blogspot.com
Preface:
This article is not the usual hyperbole regarding Barack Hussein Obama. This is thoroughly researched and Breaking News, if you will. MSM has not picked up on this. you heard it first here. For a FACT based report, read on:
In December 2007, the Trinity United Church of Christ (TUCC) bestowed its highest social achievement award upon Louis Farrakhan, the head of the Nation of Islam. This was facilitated through the church’s publication Trumpet Magazine and presented at their end of the year awards gala. The award dubbed the Lifetime Achievement “Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. Trumpet” Award is named after the head pastor that married Barack and Michele Obama nee Robinson.

According to the Church’s publication, “the decision was made to honor socially conscious giants who commit their life’s work to saving the lives of Africans on the continent and in the Diaspora.”

In addition to thanking God for the commitment of their sponsors the publisher Jeri L. Wright, the pastor’s daughter, also concludes by writing “we thank God for the commitment our honorees have made with their lives”

Among the church‘s other honorees, including congresswoman Maxine Waters, Louis Farrakhan earned top accolades with landing on the cover of the church’s publication. The featured article about Farrakhan includes this observation attributed to the Reverend Dr. Jeremiah Wright, Jr.

“When Minister Farrakhan speaks, Black America listens,” says
the Rev. Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, likening the Minister’s influence to
the E. F. Hutton commercials of old. “Everybody may not agree with
him, but they listen…His depth on analysis when it comes to the
racial ills of this nation is astounding and eye opening. He brings a
perspective that is helpful and honest.

“Minister Farrakhan will be remembered as one of the 20th and
21st century giants of the African American religious experience,”
continues Wright. “His integrity and honesty have secured him a
place in history as one of the nation’s most powerful critics.
His love for Africa and African American people has made him
an unforgettable
force, a catalyst for change and a religious leader who is sincere
about his faith and his purpose.”

The above glowing terms, by Rev. Wright, is for a man that has claimed racial superiority and leveled hateful remarks towards Jews, whites, and homosexuals. Ironically, Rev. Wright has a controversial Christian ministry dedicated to “Same Gender Loving.”

I wonder if Farrakhan, the minister of hate, knew this before accepting the award. Perhaps it wouldn't have mattered, because the uniting of radical groups espousing hate and anti-American sentiment trumps minor disagreements.

Farrakhan the so-called minister called whites “blue-eyed devils“, referred to Judaism as a “dirty religion”, and Jews as “blood suckers.” He continues to claim the U.S. government is “the enemy” and continues to make veiled threats against America.

During an interview titled “Guidance and Wisdom for 2008” with the Final Call News online edition, a Nation of Islam (NOI) publication, Farrakhan expressed his views on Obama, advanced his separatist agenda, and made threats against America. Some notable verbiage uttered by Louis Farrakhan is included for your discernment:

“Barack Obama has been very careful not to position himself as Reverend Jesse Jackson or Reverend Al Sharpton as a promoter of “The Black Cause.” He has been groomed, wisely so, to be seen more as a unifier, rather than one who speaks only for the hurt of Black people.”

“The (U.S.) government’s aim has now come to the point of execution: It is an Executive Decision, at the highest order, that Black youth are a danger to the future of White people.

White people are vexed with our young people (blacks), particularly our hip-hop artists who are taking their young people (whites) away from the racist White Supremist idea. For these young people to be in love with Black sports figures; Black entertainment figures; and now, in admiration of a Black political figure (Barack Obama) signals the end—to them—of White Supremacy.”

“We must wake up to the time and what must be done in such a time. It is not a time for integration; it is a time for us to separate from our former slave-masters and their children and go for self, do for self, and build a Nation under The Guidance of Almighty God.”

“If the Muslim world will rise above this sectarianism of Shia and Sunni, and hold fast to Islam, for at the root of that rope is the bearing of witness that “There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is His Messenger.” If the Islamic people will hold onto that rope, and be united around that, we can stop the West from any attempt to bomb Iran.

Or, if they (West) do, our (Islam) unified response would be devastating to the Western powers.”

“But I warn the Government of the United States and all those who have power and will use it against the rise of our people:

I want you to keep your eyes on the weather. Allah (God) is going to demonstrate that there is another Power inside America and throughout the world other than your power, which will stop you from killing our people wholesale. If this Executive Decision is carried forth, it will mean the destruction of the United States of America.”

What kind of church honors a man with a bigoted and hateful agenda? The Trinity United Church of Christ (TUCC), lead by the Reverend Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr.

According to Barack Hussein Obama’s official web site, Obama has been a member of TUCC for 20-years and his pastor, Wright, has become a close confidant.

According to an article by Manya A. Brachear of the Chicago Tribune, Obama says Wright helps keep his priorities straight and his moral compass calibrated.

"What I value most about Pastor Wright is not his day-to-day political advice," Obama said. "He's much more of a sounding board for me to make sure that I am speaking as truthfully about what I believe as possible and that I'm not losing myself in some of the hype and hoopla and stress that's involved in national politics."

Should the “confidants”, religious or other affiliations helping U.S. presidential candidates “keep their priorities straight and moral compass’ calibrated” come under scrutiny?

What are the implications regarding Barack Obama’s close affiliation with this controversial congregation?

Along with increasing scrutiny, it appears more questions than answers will remain regarding this candidate and his quest for the highest office in America.

Barack Obama's Church Honors Nation of Islam Leader Louis Farrakhan

By Tony Vega
January 08, 2008

After an historical win at the Iowa Caucus, questions remain about Barack Hussein Obama’s religious ties.

When Obama announced his candidacy for president, his background entered the fray. Though it appears that he is not held to task on his religious affiliations by the mainstream media, it does re-surface. Let’s explore some recent events that may shed light on Obama’s veiled religious affiliation.

In December 2007, the Trinity United Church of Christ (TUCC) bestowed its highest social achievement award upon Louis Farrakhan, the head of the Nation of Islam.
